Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Open Session by The meeting was held in the library of the Manteno High School and was called to order President Stauffenberg at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call The following members answered to roll call: G. Dodge, E. Hofmeister, M. Jackson,

P. Mallaney, L. Murray, M. Schubert and M. Stauffenberg – Seven (7).

Absent – None - (0).

Also present: Supt. Harrod, J. Emerson, C. Creek and Recording Clerk Kaufman – Four -(4).

Visitors: Randy Fortin and Family

Pledge of Allegiance President Stauffenberg led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Financial Advisor Renewal

Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Committee Curriculum Director, Cathy Creek reported that the Curriculum department has been very busy with new teacher orientation (24 new staff members). She reported that the new staff members were very engaged and lively and excited to start with Manteno. She also shared that a Google training class was offered for staff members that were interested in attending over the last two days. The switch from Outlook to Google has been a bit of a transition so classes were offered to the staff to help with any concerns. The classes will be offered on opening day as well for all staff. Ms. Creek invited the Board to the 17-18 opening day events on Monday August 21st.

Superintendent’s Report

A. Good News

1. Thank you to the custodians, Admin Assistants, Tech department and all of the summer staff that helped us get ready for the start of the new school year. Our buildings look outstanding. All of the hard work over the summer is truly appreciated.

2. We have been busy over the summer months preparing to welcome our new staff. New Teacher orientation has been going smoothly the last couple of days.
