President Bayer called the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bradley Public Library District to order at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Present: Bayer, Grace, Rodgers, Benoit, Hendrickson, Fisher and Richardson

36 new readers were registered and 7,390 items were issued in August.

Director DePatis stated the following:
Continuing Ed:
Betty Chapman, Ranae Surbrook, and Chris Temple attended the Jim Gill workshop on children’s story times with music and movement held at the Bradley Public Library on August 25th. Thirty five people attended in all.
Director DePatis completed the annual Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act training through the Illinois Attorney General’s website.
Director DePatis attended a webinar provided by PLA on Digital Learning.
KALA meeting on September 7th was attended by Director DePatis, Olivia Koerner, Ranae Surbrook, Chris Temple and Betty Chapman.
Legal:
Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget and Appropriations Ordinance was published and filed with County Clerk.
Illinois Public Library Annual Report was completed and submitted.
Programs:
The fall programs started on September 18th.
Five staff members attended the training for Northern Illinois Food Bank school year snack program at the YMCA on August 31st. Snacks are being served on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm.
Committee Reports:
The Friends of the Library did not meet this month.
Unfinished Business:
Trustee Richardson presented an insurance spreadsheet on actual cost versus working budget if the Blue Cross Blue Shield renewal policy was chosen.

The annual holiday party would be held on Sunday, December 3rd at the Quality Inn.
New Business: Director DePatis distributed to each trustee a copy of the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Report for each trustee to review. The annual report provides library information for the fiscal year 2016-2017.
Moved by Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Grace to have the lounge furniture re-upholstered at an approximate cost of $4,100.00

Director DePatis distributed the fiscal year 2018 requirements for the per capita and equalization grants.
Moved by Trustee Bayer, seconded by Trustee Rodgers to go into Executive Session at 6:41 pm for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter.
President Bayer declared the Executive session to be concluded at 6:52 pm
Moved by Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Rodgers, to award Director DePatis a 2.0% salary increase as discussed in the Executive session.
