Report: Kankakee spent $13,013 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Kankakee School District 111 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a Kankakee Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Kankakee County school district spent $12,049 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,013 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5311 to 5199.

Kankakee's spending in 2016-17 was 0 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
