Report: Grant Park spent $9,712 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Grant Park Community Unit School District 6 is down 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Kankakee Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Kankakee County school district spent $9,773 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,712 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 554 to 515.

Grant Park's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
