Crescent-Iroquois Fire Protection District responded to 21 calls in 2017 - 40 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Crescent-Iroquois included 19 fires - 12 structure fires, three vehicle fires and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $203,500 in fire loss - or about $10,711 per fire.

The department also received two false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.

The Crescent-Iroquois Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $67,585 in 2017.
