Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees met May 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

6:00PM Meeting called to order/ Pledge

Roll Call was taken, all members present

*Motion to approve minutes from previous 4/16/18 meeting

Motion: Morgan 2nd: Coats Motion Carried 5-0-1 Veldhuizen abstaining

Public Comments: Dennis Granger addressed the Board with a prepared statement, stating that recently he granted access to Trustees Morse, and Weidl, to a web site that he created back in 2013, that he used to announce various events going on in Grant Park. With their access, he has been removed as an administrator for the site, and asked to be reinstated, since he created it. No reply was offered from the Board.

Bill Wold had questions for the Board, and Aqua representatives in attendance, asking several questions on what were the future plans in running the sewer system, should it be sold. Questions were answered, with the exception to eliminating the “dead ends” that were to be addressed years ago. The representatives stated they would forward the request to the engineering department.

*Bills for Payment: Payroll <4/21/18 $15,400.16, <5/03/18 General Fund $33,113.94, Sewer $5,682.16, M.F.T. $1,398.00, Festival $100.00, T.I.F. $400.00

Building & Grounds, Morse: Waiting for certificate of Insurance from the G.P Foundation for projects

Festival meeting 5/10/18

*Motion to approve Friday night band “Just Roll With It” for $500

*Motion to approve Saturday Night sound guy “Rose Audio” for $800

*Motion to approve soccer/baseball rental for kid’s area, 3 days for $400, %Lees Rental

*Motion to approve “Big Raffle” to award cash prizes 1st/$1000, 2nd/ $500, 3rd/$250, 4th/$150, 5th & 6th/ $50 Motion: Morse 2nd: Weidl Motion Carried 6-0

Ordinance & Insurance, Weidl: Second Reading- consideration and approval of an Ordinance O-4-18-2, approving an asset purchase agreement and the sale of surplus real property and the personal property in the Village of Grant Park, Kankakee County, Illinois-sale of wastewater system and related real and personal property to Aqua Illinois Inc.

(Mr. Morgan offered several comments in a prepared statement before the vote)

Motion: Weidl 2nd: Dickson Motion Carried 5-1-1 (Super majority vote necessary)

Voting yes, Roth, Dickson, Morse, Veldhuizen, and Weidl: Morgan, no: Coats abstaining

Pres Roth: Recognized Brian Duncan for award presented from Eastern Illinois Sheriffs Assoc.
