Milford Area Public Schools District 124 students suspended, expelled 57 times in a single school year

Milford Area Public Schools District 124 reported one expulsions and 56 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 57 students during the year. That equates to 9.2 percent of the 619 students enrolled.

Students were expelled for one incident with unspecified reasons.

Of the 42 in-school suspensions, including 17 elementary or middle schoolers and 25 high schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 29 incidents. There were 10 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 29 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes seven incidents. There were six incidents of unspecified reasons. For six incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
