Madigan gives $135,858 more to Dugan

With less than a week left before voters go to the polls, Kankakee State House candidate Lisa Dugan received another $135,858 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Oct. 18 and Oct. 26, state filings show.

The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends for Lisa Dugan, the campaign committee that supports Dugan’s race against Republican Lindsay Parkhurst in the 79th House District.

The district covers all or part of Peotone, Coal City, Braidwood, Gardner, East Brooklyn, Bourbonnais, Bonfield, Limestone, Reddick, Union Hill, Kankakee, Sun River Terrace, Aroma Park, Hopkins Park, Buckingham, Herscher, Cabery, Irwin, Chebanse and St. Anne.

Madigan’s contributions to Dugan came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $582,078 to the candidate’s campaign this election cycle.

Madigan spent $6.5 million on 24 candidates between Oct 18 and Oct 30, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. He has spent $15.84 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates this election cycle, thus far.
