Report: 21.7% of Kankakee Community College students repaying loans are in default

Out of 634 Kankakee Community College students repaying loans in 2015, 138 were in default, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

That gives the two-year public school in Kankakee a default rate of 21.7 percent for that year – 0.5 percentage points higher than in 2014 and 2 points lower than in 2013.

Kankakee Community College had 9 more students in default in 2015 than in 2014 and 16 fewer than in 2013.
