Illinois State House District 79 issued the following announcement on June 17
State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) is hosting a jobs fair on July 19th at the Knights of Columbus. The jobs fair is free and open to all residents in the 79th district. The event will have 51 local, state, and national employers for job seekers to meet. Potential applicants are encouraged to dress to impress and bring several copies of their resumes to hand out to employers. To help interested applicants in their job search process, there will be several workshops offered including “Effective Strategies for State Employment” at 9:00, “How to Write a Resume & Get Noticed” at 10:00, and “I Have an Interview…Now What?” at 11:00. The entire fair will go from 9 am – 12:00 pm.
“This is the 3rd year I hosted this jobs fair. We are able to connect hundreds of candidates with employers. I am happy to continue to host this event to help those who are looking for a career change or want find work. I am confident the fair and these workshops help residents shine in their interviews and find the jobs they are looking for,” Rep. Parkhurst said about the jobs fair.
