Q2 2018 Recap: Parolees in Kankakee convicted of crimes against children

There were six offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Kankakee during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kankakee Times.

The data shows that six men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children was 38. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced in 2013.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Rene Lara-Aguilera. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2011 when he was 22 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q2 2018 who were convicted of crimes against children.
