Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60901 convicted of crimes against children

There were 12 offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole near Illinois zip code 60901 during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kankakee Times.

The data shows that 12 men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children was 43. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 76-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Alejandro Guerrero. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2013 when he was 35 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
