KANKAKEE COUNTY FARM BUREAU: USMCA action request still open

KANKAKEE COUNTY FARM BUREAU issued the following announcement on Sept. 25.

Illinois Farm Bureau urges members to continue to participate in the action request for the United States-Mexico-Canada-Agreement (USMCA).

So far, 1,555 IFB members have collectively sent 6,232 messages to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and members of Illinois’ congressional delegation.

On Sept. 18, all former U.S. Secretaries of Agriculture since President Ronald Reagan’s administration hosted a press conference and sent a formal letter to congressional leaders in support of USMCA.

The support letter stated in closing: “We need a strong and reliable trade deal with our top two customers for U.S. agriculture products. USMCA will provide certainty in the North American market for the U.S. farm sector and rural economy. We strongly support ratification of USMCA.”

To participate in the action request, text “Ratify USMCA” to 52886.
