City of Kankakee issued the following announcement on Nov. 1.
Tractor Supply Company is now open for business in the City of Kankakee! What started as a mail order tractor parts business in 1938 by Charles E. Schmidt from Chicago, is now the fasting growing farm store in America. A ribbon cutting was held today at the new location right off Kankakee exit 308 Riverstone Parkway. Store Manager, Jamie Ackman, says they already have seen a lot of customers, especially from people who tell them they stopped in because they were curious from seeing the store from the highway. Tractor Supply now sells a variety of products for farmers, tools, pet supplies, toys, automotive, clothing and more. Tractor Supply in Kankakee is fully staffed with 15 employees; however, applications are still being accepted. The grand opening for the Tractor Supply Company will be tomorrow on November 2, 2019. As a special promotion, customers will receive 10% off their entire purchase.
