City of Momence Public Works Committee met November 4.

The Ordinance Committee meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
Present: Chairman Alderman Metz, also present Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Cook, Temple, and Rehmer. Alderman Clark and Cope were absent.
1. Sewer upgrades and needed projects – RCAP – water sewer rates/water rate Brock Teichmiller.
Water rate analysis – looking at a rate of 78.22 for average water bill, 80% of the base rate should cover the expenses, variable would cover the remaining. Overall, losing around $23,000.00 yearly on water that was treated but not billed. Suggested charges are a base rate + variable rate The industries should have a higher rate, 7 large users. Healthy range would be between $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 for income.
Water waste – over $500,000.00 lost over 5 years
