Kankakee home prices fall in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in Kankakee fell by $7,300 while total sales decreased by 12.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 206 homes sold, with a median sale price of $93,250 - a 7.3% decrease over the $100,550 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 235 homes sold in Kankakee in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Kankakee for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,621, approximately 2.8% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2019.
