Items for Discussion:

• Employee Updates – We have one employee on injury leave who estimates to be back in 6-8 weeks. There have been no new crossing guards hired; there is still one position open. Three of the past park rangers have agreed to return.

• Significant Case Update – Chief Swinford stated that the department has been very busy in the past month and half. There were two (2) heroin deaths, a large cannabis arrest, robbery at Casey’s, a smash and grab at the BP on South Creek Drive and an IOA pursuit. Chief Swinford stated that the department has been assisting the Kankakee County Sheriff’s department at the Indian Oaks facility in Diversatech more frequently.

Chief Swinford presented several videos of the pursuit, the smash and grab and of an induvial at the Circle K who later overdosed on heroin.

• Monthly Stats – Chief Swinford presented the February 2020 stats.

A motion by Mayor Nugent and seconded by Trustee Gesky, to adjourn the meeting at 7:33 a.m. Voice vote – all ayes.
