Trustee Dole called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m.

A motion was made by Trustee Martin, seconded by Mayor Nugent, to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2020 as presented; motion carried by voice vote. All ayes, no nays.

Public Participation: None Items for Discussion:

• Employee Updates – Chief Swinford stated the department does not have any cases of COVID-19 at this time. The officer that is out for injury will be seeing the Doctor later this week, with hopes to be fully released for return to duty.

• Significant Case Update – Chief Swinford stated that the burglary crews are still coming into the area. The night shift has had extra cars patrolling. Chief Swinford stated that the midnight officers participated in a Zoom call with a larger suburban department who is using data to track these crimes. There were over 32 departments participating in the call. There are 2-3 primary gangs that are committing these crimes. There have been numerous arrests, but that has not slowed the crimes.

Chief Swinford stated that arrests have been made on the death of an overdosed victim. The arrestees did steal a credit card from the victim and they also may be charged with the concealment of his death.

• Monthly Stats – Chief Swinford presented the April 2020 stats.

A motion by Mayor Nugent and seconded by Trustee Boyce to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 a.m. Voice vote – all ayes.
