Items for Discussion:

• Village Events – Ms. Marion stated that if the village continues to follow the state mandates for number of people allowed to gather in Phase III or Phase IV, the July village events will not be able to be held. The July events are Yoga on the Square, Movies in the Park, and Rockin’ on Main. The movie event will be cancelled, but the village will hold for the Rockin’ on Main to see what the state mandates at the end of June.

• Fireworks/Donation – The Village staff met with the Manteno Sportsman’s Club representatives concerning the fireworks on July 3rd. The consensus was to cancel the event due to other area fireworks being cancelled and the possibility of more people coming to Manteno than usual. The village will still donate the money to the Sportsman’s Club that can be used either at another time or for next year’s event.

• Square on Second Fence Proposals – Mr. Hanley presented two proposals, one from A Fence Above the Rest Inc. and Osterhoff Fence. Mr. Hanley also contacted two other companies. A Fence Above the Rest had the lower estimate and has said that the fence can be matched. Previously the other fencing has been installed by Osterhoff. The consensus would be to stay with Osterhoff since their product is what is already there.

• CD Renewals – Mr. LaRocque stated that in March the village renewed two (2) CD’s for a 3-month term. Those CD’s are coming due. All four banks in town were contacted. National Bank of Manteno responded with a letter. The CD’s are for $1.6 million and $1.6 5 million respectfully. The consensus was to renew the CD’s for 6-months at 0.35%. There will be other CD’s that will come due in July. All banks will be contacted again.

• South Path Engineering RFP – Mr. LaRocque stated that he had sent an RFP to four local engineering firms concerning the south path project. The deadline is July 24th. The RFP’s will be presented at the Public Works Committee meeting in July.

• O’Reilly’s update – Mr. LaRocque reported that the site plan is still being worked upon. The issue is the drainage design. The building has been approved. It is hoped to have a closing next month.

• Month End Financial Reports – No items to report as this is just the first month in the new fiscal year. IML updated their predictions for the year with at a reduction of 14-20%, which is up from previous predictions.

• Misc.

o Mayor Nugent was approached by John Pipenbrink, who owns property on South Main and West Cook Street. This property is next to the storage building we have on South Main Street. Mr. LaRocque and Mr. Hanley will investigate.

o First Street project is moving along. Electricians will be boring lines for the streetlights. The fire hydrant has been relocated. Redesigned some of the storm areas and most curbs are complete. The area on the west side has been redesigned and will be cleaned up.

o With the high winds yesterday, the chipper truck will be running the whole village for blown down branches.

o The chipper route will be running on the 1st & 3rd Monday’s for the north route and 2nd & 4th Monday’s for the south route.

A motion by Trustee Boyce and seconded by Trustee Gesky to adjourn the meeting at 8:01 a.m. Voice vote – all ayes.
