Grant Park Fire Protection District responded to 77 calls in 2018 - 10 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Grant Park included 59 fires - 35 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 21 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $3,318,400 in fire loss - or about $56,244 per fire.

The department also received 17 false calls, including three malicious calls and 14 other false calls.

The Grant Park Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $688,838 in 2018.
