Village of Bradley Police & Fire Commission Met April 5.

COMMISSIONERS

George Golwitzer, Chairman

Jaclin Hernandez, Commissioner

Chairman Golwitzer called the Regular meeting of the Bradley Fire & Police Commission to order on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

IN ATTENDANCE:

Chairman Golwitzer, Secretary Arrington, Commissioner Hernandez, Fire Chief Kaderabek and Police Lieutenant Phil Trudeau.

REVIEW/APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded by Secretary Arrington to approve the March 1, 2021 Regular Meeting minutes; February 25, 2021, March 4, 2021 and March 15, 2021 Special Meeting minutes; and the February 25, 2021, March 4, 2021 and March 15, 2021 Executive Session Meeting minutes. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None

CORRESPONDENCE/COMMUNICATION:

A background investigation request was received from the Monee Police Department concerning an applicant that had applied for the Bradley Police Officer position. A response was sent to the Monee Police Department and a copy was given to the Bradley Police Department to be filed for reference.

APPROVAL OF BILLS: None

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

The deadline for applying for a Firefighter position is April 12, 2021. Ten applicants have applied as of today’s date.

NEW BUSINESS:

The Polygraph and fingerprint reports for firefighter candidate Dan Poulos were presented and reviewed. The commissioners expressed no concerns with the results.

Police officer candidate oral interview results were tabulated and a new Police Officer Final Eligibility Register was drafted. A motion was made by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded by Secretary Arrington to approve the Police Officer Final Eligibility Register. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried.

The Police Officer Initial Eligibility Register was updated based on the establishment of the Final Eligibility Register. A motion was made by Chairman Golwitzer and seconded by Commissioner Hernandez to approve the updated Police Officer Initial Eligibility Register. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried.

The Commissioners reviewed the proposal from Stanard and Associates for the Police Sergeant Promotional process. The proposal includes a semi-custom written promotional exam with 10 department specific questions and a structured oral board interview component. A motion was by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded by Secretary Arrington to approve the proposal. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried. Chairman Golwitzer will sign and return the proposal to Stanard and Associates. Lieutenant Trudeau will draft a sign-up sheet for the applicants to help determine the number of applicants that want to take the exam.

With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Commissioner Hernandez and seconded by Chairman Golwitzer to adjourn the meeting. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
