City of Momence City Council met Sept. 20.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk present.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the minutes of the, September 7, 2021 with amendments. Alderman Strunk seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed during committee meeting. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Starkey seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

CITIZENS FORUM –

OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Salomone – public works met tonight to discuss water/sewer rates. We are waiting to hear from city attorney prior to proceeding

ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Salomone – BF meeting October 4, 7:15 PM.

Alderman Cook – Conrad Park yard sale October 2, 10AM – 4PM. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve. Alderman Starkey seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

Alderman Temple – request executive session to come out to do business.

MAYORAL REPORT – meeting with County mayors for enterprise zone, possibly creating a new zone. This would be used in hopes of stimulating residential/new homes growth. Alderman Cook made motion to approve., Alderman Starkey seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

Alderman Salomone made motion to go into executive session. Alderman Starkey seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

Adjourned to executive session 7:40 PM.

Returned from executive session 7:45 PM.

Alderman Temple made motion to approve moving two part-time officers to full-time. Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

Alderman Starkey made motion to adjourn. Alderman Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddelston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.

Meeting adjourned at 7:47 PM
