In 5A games, No. 5 Marion (H.S.) (10-1) will play No. 1 Kankakee (Sr.) (11-0).
2A action will see No. 13 Kankakee (McNamara) (7-4) taking to the field at No. 1 Wilmington (11-0).
Kankakee is making its first quarterfinal appearance since 2008 when they beat Morris 36-21. They would fall 22-21 in the 5A semifinals to Wheaton St. Francis.
Bishop McNamara is coached by the legendary Rich Zinanni, who is retiring at the end of this, his 46th season.
Zinnani led the Irish to state championships in 1982, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 2015.
They lost in the state 4A quarterfinals in 2019 to Murphysboro, 35-27.
