Village of Hecker Board of Trustees met Sept. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

President Charles Kujawski called the regular Board Meeting to order. After reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, the following members answered roll call: Charles Kujawski, Rich Happel, Aaron Eckart, Arnold Eckart, Douglas Van Buren, Wade Harrelson, Lori Amann and Annette Schreder. James Mueth and Gary Wittenauer were absent.

Rich Happel made a motion seconded by Aaron Eckart to approve the August 10, 2021, Regular Board Minutes. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

Arnold Eckart made a motion seconded by Douglas Van Buren to approve the treasurer’s report and pay all bills submitted for the month of September. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

Mayors Report: The IML conference will be held September 23-25, 2021. President Charles Kujawski stated that he will be attending along with Board Members Arnold Eckart and Aaron Eckart.

Updates on Dollar General Store:

Sewer: A manhole will be located in front of Dollar General at a depth of 3 feet. A grinder Pump station will be used at the Dollar General Store. A sewer easement was obtained 15 feet along the right of way and between Basic Industries and the house to the North. The Village will be responsible for maintenance for the easement and pipe. A signed Permit has been issued to Dollar General. A Building Permit Application has been received. Just waiting on some civil corrections and Architectural corrections to get finished. The permit could get issued as early as next week. At present they are just doing dirt and rock work.

Committee Reports:

Police: Per the Monroe County Police Department, an Ordinance was passed several months ago concerning the curb painting of No Parking Restrictions in front of several areas along Route 159 and 156. The owner of the Tattoo Parlor was threatening Litigation against the Village for taking away parking spaces in front of his business. Public Works: Previously discussed in the mayors comments

Parks: the mulch was delivered, and Aaron Eckart spread it around the two playgrounds. Streets: Aaron Eckart has been appointed the Streets Chairman. He reported that street sweeping, and some repairs were completed before the Hecker 125th Anniversary Parade. Oiling and Chipping will be scheduled for October.

Zoning: Wade Harrelson reported that he is collecting the usual occupancy permits and inspection permits. Also reported on the property at 171 N. Nike.

Several appointments for the Zoning Board were discussed.

Rich Happel made a motion seconded by Douglas Van Buren to appoint Zoning Board Member Dave Bruss as the Zoning Board Chairman. Voting all ayes, motion carried. Douglas Van Buren made a motion seconded by Rich Happel to appoint Russ Brafford as a new Zoning Board Member. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

Mayor Kujawski handed out information from Coast to Coast on possibly leasing a new copy machine which would cut down our costs as the lease would include maintenance and ink supplies.

Douglas Van Buren made a motion seconded by Arnold Eckart to approve the Lease of Multifunction Printer/Copier with Coast to Coast. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

Douglas Van Buren made a motion seconded by Aaron Eckart to adjourn the meeting. Voting all ayes, motion carried.
