Report: Bourbonnais School District spent $9,837 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 was up 8 percent from five years ago, according to the Kankakee Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Kankakee County school district spent $9,106 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,837 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 2,395 to 2,452 students over the same period.

Bourbonnais's spending in 2019-20 was 32.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
