Report: Central School District spent $11,232 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Central Community Unit School District 4 was up 4.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Kankakee Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Iroquois County school district spent $10,780 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,232 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,113 to 1,002 students over the same period.

Central's spending in 2019-20 was 22.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
