Village of Chebanse Village Board met June 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Mathy called the Regular Village Board meeting to order at 7:00 pm on June 20, 2022. The following Trustees were present: Trustee Beherns, Trustee Kohler, Trustee Odle, Trustee Perzee, Trustee Randles and Trustee Snyder. Also present were Mayor Mathy, James Smith from Maintenance and Clerk  Pasel.  

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Mathy 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Beherns to approve the May 16, 2022 Board Meeting minutes. Vote:

 APPROVAL OF TREASURER’S REPORT: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Kohler to approve the May 31, 2022 Treasurer’s Report. Vote:

 BILL STATEMENT: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Snyder to approve the Bill Statement for June 20, 2022. Vote:

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: NONE 

REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS: Clerk Pasel informed the Board that with the help of James and Paul Ducat of the Iroquois County Board, the Village was awarded two grants. One for the Civic Center in the amount of $47,875.00 to put a new roof on the Civic Center and $49,999.99 for the Community Building  to up grade the bathrooms.  

James informed the Board that Casey’s is coming along fine. He also reported that Fastlane is also moving forward with their building. 

NEW BUSINESS 

DOLLAR GENERAL PLAT: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Odle to approve the RSBR Subdivision Preliminary Subdivision Plat for Dollar General. Vote:

 A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Randles to approve the RSBR final Subdivision Plat for Dollar General. Vote:

DEPOT DECK: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Snyder to approve replacing the deck and door at the Depot, not to exceed $9,000.00. Vote:

SIDEWALK WORK: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Odle to fix the sidewalk in front of the Post Office with a cap of $4,000.00. Vote:

ARA GRANT FROM IROQUOIS: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Beherns to approve spending $47,875.00 on the Civic Center from the ARA Grant from Iroquois County. Vote:
