City of Watseka Finance, Legal & Audit Committee met Dec. 13.

PRESENT: Alderman Barragree, Cahoe, Marcier, Miller, Alderwoman Rohlfs, and Mayor Allhands
ABSENT: Alderman Garfield and Alderwoman Musk
GUEST: Resident Jody Schuler
Alderman Barragree opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. During public comment resident Jody Schuler spoke stating her daughter owns a new salon on Walnut St and would like to serve beer and wine to her customers. She was told that their request was turned down and she wanted to know why? Mayor Allhands stated this was discussed in a liquor committee meeting and at that time there was not enough support. In order to be able to serve alcohol in a salon a new ordinance would need to be created. It was decided to discuss this again at the next public safety meeting when Chief Douglas is in attendance.
Alderman Barragree makes a motion to recommend to the Council to accept the November Treasures report and Alderman Cahoe seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Barragree stated transfers need to be made tonight.
Alderman Miller makes a motion to recommend to the Council to transfer $51,483.00 from the water fund 30-50-8000 into the 2019 bond repayment fund 61-10-9000 and Alderman Marcier seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Marcier makes a motion to recommend to the Council to transfer $51,483.00 from the sewer fund 30-60-8000 into the 2019 bond repayment fund 61-10-9000 and Alderman Miller seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Miller makes a motion to recommend to the Council to transfer $179,110.00 from the infrastructure fund 36-10-1000 into the 2022A bond repayment fund 63-10-9000 and Alderman Cahoe seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Cahoe makes a motion to recommend to the Council to transfer $107,041.00 from the general fund 1-10-8000 into the liability fund 8-10-9000 and Alderman Miller seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Marcier makes a motion to recommend to the Council to transfer $25,890.00 from the general fund 1-10-8000 into the audit fund 9-10-9000 and Alderman Cahoe seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Cahoe stated he has been talking to Fire Chief Ken Baier about an ambulance he has found and would like to purchase. This is a used 2015 Wheeled Coach type 3 that was in Evergreen Fire Department. The cost including the lettering is $68,550.00. A new ambulance cost roughly $240,000 to $260,000. This ambulance has 27,000 miles on it and 3000 hours. Alderman Cahoe makes a motion to recommend to the Council to purchase the 2015 Ambulance for $68,550.00 and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
Alderman Barragree makes a motion to adjourn at 6:42 pm and Alderman Miller seconded. Roll call carried 6-0.
