Kankakee Times

There were three offenders living in Iroquois County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Kankakee Times.

The data shows all of the released offenders in Iroquois County were men. The median age of the parolees was 43. The youngest parolee was a 31-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2022, and the oldest was a 50-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Bohdan Ostryzniuk. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2018 when he was 38 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
