The meeting was called to order by Village President Timothy Nugent, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call of the Board was made by the Village Clerk.
Motion by Dole, seconded by Phillips, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the regular Board Meeting minutes of August 7, 2023, as presented by the Clerk.
Motion approved: 5-0 Crockett absent

Village President’s Report: Mayor Nugent
• National Rail Safety Week – September 18 – 23, 2023
• Congratulations to Jakob on the “Rockin on the Square” event held on Friday night. Jakob is now planning for the upcoming Oktoberfest, which will be celebrating 25 years.
Village Administrator’s Report: Chris LaRocque
• Swearing in of new police officer Zachary Boeringa, who began last week.

Public Works- Trustee Boyce
• Ordinance 23-07 - An Ordinance authorizing the Sale of Personal Property (Surplus Municipal Equipment). The Village of Manteno has accumulated items of personal property which are no longer deemed necessary or useful to or for the best interest of the Village.

Parks and Recreation- Trustee Martin
Nothing on the agenda tonight.
Next Parks and Recreation meeting has been cancelled. Will schedule a meeting if needed.
Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole
Nothing on the agenda tonight.
• Back to School this week. Residents need to reduce speed on school days and watch for children walking and riding bikes to and from school.
• Hot weather is coming this week. Make sure you stay hydrated and check on the elderly. The cooling center at the Leo Hassett Community Center can be opened to anyone who is experiencing the heat and has no air conditioning in which to cool off. Contact the Manteno Police department and they can open the building.

Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett, absent
