City of Momence City Council met Oct. 2.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Doody, Vela, Huddelston, Clark, Fordahl, Cook and Lesyna present. Alderman Temple was absent.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Cook made motion to approve the minutes of September 18. Alderman Vela seconded the motion with Aldermen Doody, Vela, Clark, Fordahl, Cook and Lesyna voting yes. Alderman Huddelston passed.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
Alderman Doody made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Clark seconded the motion with Aldermen Doody, Vela, Huddelston, Clark, Fordahl, Cook and Lesyna voting yes.

Change from fiscal year to calendar year
License exemptions for non for profits – need license but no charge
License for in home business (day care) they should have license, Mayor suggested checking the ordinance for day cares.
This would still apply to businesses outside the city limits but receive city services. (Good Shepard) but have multiple buildings – could be considered one contact, will speak to Chief. In-town businesses need to show proof of insurance in order to have a permit/license.
Department Heads – Tina - auditors have started – also watching CD rates for renewal.
Scott – clarifier is running but still needing to be replaced. Company has waived the 25% down, no money down to order the new one. Prices will continue to rise if we push off, needs to get done soon. Rick Clark last day of work is tomorrow, October 3, he will start his retirement.
Treasurer report –
MAYORAL REPORT – Chief is attending a management class; he will be available next week.
