Village of Bourbonnais Community & Economic Development Committee met June 26.

1. Meeting Opening

Action, Procedural: A. Roll Call - Trustee Jeff Keast called meeting to order at 3:45 PM Members present: Mayor Paul Schore, Trustee Bruce Greenlee, Trustee Rick Fischer, Trustee Jeff Keast, and Trustee Jack Littrell. Also in attendance, Treasurer Ron Riebe, Attorney Patrick Dunn, Administrator Michael Van Mill, Assistant Administrator Laurie Cyr, Finance Director Tara Latz, Chief Jim Phelps, Public Works Superintendent Terry Memenga, Public Works Assistant Superintendent Frank Triveline, Engineer Mike Gingerich, Admin Assistant Margie Beach, and Planning Commission Chairman Mark Argyelan. Absent: Trustee Randy King and Trustee Angie Serafini

2. Review & Approve Minutes

Action, Minutes: A. Community & Economic Development Committee Meeting Minutes from June 6, 2024

Motion by Trustee Rick Fischer, second by Trustee Bruce Greenlee to approve the Community & Economic Development Committee minutes from June 6, 2024, as presented..

Final Resolution: Motion Carried

3. Planning Commission

Discussion: A. Case PV24-0001: Variance at 679-739 Seagull Run to allow a reduction in the front yard setback, in an R-5 Multiple-Family Residence, from 25 feet to 19.5 feet [Sec. 36-10-1g (Table 10-5) of the Village Code]. Applicant: Piggush Engineering, Inc. on behalf of Justin Goselin > Ms. Cyr stated at the June 20 Planning Commission meeting they discussed a variance request for Case PV24-0001 at future addresses 679-739 Seagull Run which is located at the northeast corner of Summerfield Lane and Seagull Run, south of 5000 N Road (on Board Docs). These lots were purchased for 7 apartment buildings, but Mr. Goselin has decided to build two duplexes (1,350 square feet) instead and is requesting a reduction of the front yard setback from 25' to 19.5' due to the placement of sanitary storm sewer lines. > After deliberation of the testimony presented, the Planning Commission voted 5-0 to approve a reduction of the front yard setback, in an R-5 Multiple-Family residence, from 25' to 19.5'.

Community & Economic Development Committee concurs with the Planning Commission's recommendation, and legislation will be created for the next Regular Board Meeting on July 1, 2024.
