Illinois introduces optional 8-year driver's licenses by July 2027

The Secretary of State in Illinois is set to implement changes to the state's driver's license system. According to a new law, by July 2027, eligible drivers will have the option to obtain an 8-year driver's license instead of the standard 4-year license. The cost for this extended license will be $60.
