Howard Lawrence Hayes, aged 89, of Bradley, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 15, 2024. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Everett and Florence Hayes, Howard leaves behind a lifetime of dedication to his family and professional endeavors.

Preceded in death by his wife Beverly, parents Everett and Florence Hayes, and brother Edward, Howard is survived by his children Vickie Schillerstrom, Toni Hayes Kruse, Gayle Dominicis, grandchildren, and cherished partner Patty Clancy. He will be missed by his dear sister, Mary Johnson, and numerous friends and family members.

Known for his extraordinary work ethic and extensive career in the car business, spanning over 60 years, Howard earned admiration for managing numerous automobile dealerships in Kankakee County and founding his own business, Quality Motorcars. He was a mentor to many in the industry, fostering their success with his guidance and expertise.

A devoted member of the community, Howard served on the school board, was active in local organizations such as the Lions Club and the Hundred Club of Kankakee County, and supported St. Joseph Catholic Church. He will be remembered for his grand personality, generosity, and unwavering dedication to helping others.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, with a funeral mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, December 20, 2024. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Hundred Club of Kankakee County.
