Born to Claude and Iva Drazy, Sandy Kay married Lawrence Vilt on November 4, 1967, and together they raised two children in Bonfield. She was appreciated for her role as a devoted wife and mother, finding joy in creating a welcoming home environment for their loved ones.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, brother Richard McClain, sister Madonna Brenyas, and daughter Martha Vilt, Sandy Kay is survived by her son Guy Vilt, daughter-in-law Melody Vilt, granddaughter Taylor Vilt, and extended family members and friends who held a special place in her heart.
Cremation rites have been consented to, and a burial at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood is scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., following a gathering at Clancy Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life is planned for the Spring.
