City of Watseka Code Enforcement Committee met Dec. 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

PRESENT: Aldermen Miller, Muench, Anderson, Barragree, Cahoe, Marcier, Mayor Allhands

ABSENT: Alderwomen Rohlfs and DeLahr

Alderman Miller opened the meeting at 7:15 pm. There was no public comment.

Alderman Miller stated Building Inspector Eric Brandt is gone this week to a Flood class so he will present the following:

Ordinance Citations: 7 warnings and 2 citations issued

Muller Property Rezoning: The property off of Elm St that Randy and Juanita Muller own, per the Laborers Home Development Corp is requesting to rezone that property from R-2 to R-4 to give the city more points in the system. This will happen sometime in January as it will need to be posted for 30 days.

502 E Ash St: the committee has a letter from Eric outlining the timeline of events since 2015. The residence has now been raised the owners are addressing the decks/porches and crawlspace issues, so Eric is suggesting the city drop the court proceedings and handle any other issues that might arise in Municipal Court. The committee is ok with this 1009 W Lafayette St: the current owners are now requesting a change of use for the barn from a venue to commercial office space. The venue idea the owners stated was over their budget. Currently there are no official drawings. Alderman Marcier stated maybe a change needs to be made stating when borrowing revolving loan monies an architectural seal needs to be gotten first for the project. There was a short discussion about the parking lot being tarred and chipped.

Alderman Miller makes a motion to adjourn at 7:23 pm and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 7-0.
