State Representative Jackie Haas of Kankakee has been appointed to six House committees in the 104th General Assembly. The appointments were announced by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie as legislators reconvened in Springfield.
Rep. Haas will serve as the Republican Spokesperson and ranking member on three committees: Health Care Availability and Access, Mental Health, and Prescription Drug Affordability. Additionally, she will participate in the Appropriations: Health and Human Services Committee, Human Services Committee, and International Relations, Tourism, and Trade Committee.
"I am honored to be assigned to serve on six committees for the 104th General Assembly," stated Rep. Haas. She emphasized her commitment to addressing critical issues affecting her constituents and residents across Illinois through her committee roles.
With over three decades of experience as a social worker and serving as CEO of the Helen Wheeler Center since 2000, Rep. Haas is currently in her third term as a State Representative. She highlighted that her background in mental health would contribute significantly to her committee work.
"My experience in the mental health industry will lend to my role on these committees, ensuring I am making the best decisions for the people of our state," said Rep. Haas. "I look forward to being a voice for common-sense change on these committees in the 104th General Assembly."
