State Representative Jackie Haas of Illinois has been reappointed as the Assistant House Republican Leader by Leader Tony McCombie. "I am truly honored to be named Assistant House Republican Leader," Haas expressed, acknowledging the privilege of continuing in this role for another term. She highlighted several pressing issues facing Illinois and looks forward to collaborating with her caucus on solutions.
Haas will also continue her service on the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) for a second term. "The work we do on JCAR is absolutely critical to ensuring our state agencies are properly carrying out the laws we pass in the General Assembly," she stated. As one of 12 lawmakers on this bipartisan committee, Haas will oversee rule-making by state agencies, confirming alignment with legislative intent and timely law implementation.
In addition to her leadership roles, Haas has been assigned to six committees for the 104th General Assembly. These include Appropriations: Health and Human Services, Health Care Availability and Access as Republican Spokesperson, Human Services, International Relations, Tourism and Trade, Mental Health as Republican Spokesperson, and Prescription Drug Affordability as Republican Spokesperson.
Haas attended several local events recently. She celebrated Mark's retirement at the Will County Farm Bureau and participated in an interfaith prayer breakfast honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. Additionally, she hosted advisory councils for discussions with policy experts and attended the Kankakee Riverwalk groundbreaking ceremony.
At a luncheon co-hosted by Grundy Economic Development Council and Grundy Chamber of Commerce, economic development plans were discussed. The Illinois Association of Park Districts annual luncheon was another event Haas attended as a guest of Kankakee Park District.
Recognition came from the Will County Farm Bureau with a Legislator Award for her voting record on agricultural issues. In January 2025's local business spotlight, Rigo’s Place in Kankakee was recognized for its seafood offerings.
The fifth annual Valentines for Veterans drive is underway with submissions due by February 11th at Haas's district office in Kankakee. Constituents are also encouraged to participate in her 2025 Legislative Survey available online.
For museum enthusiasts seeking free access to Chicago museums, a Museum Resource Card Request Form is available through Haas’s office. Submissions should be made three days prior to the visit date requested.
Upcoming traveling office hours have been scheduled: February 12th and 26th at Monee Village Hall from 9 AM to 12 PM; February 27th at Park Forest Public Library from 10 AM to 1 PM.
