Village of Bourbonnais Board of Trustees met March 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by Village President Paul Schore.

1. CALL TO ORDER

Procedural: A. Pledge of Allegiance led by 3rd Grade Student Michael Nelin from St. Paul's Lutheran School.

Procedural: B. Roll Call - Village Clerk Brian Simeur

Members present: Mayor Paul Schore, Trustee Bruce Greenlee, Trustee Rick Fischer, Trustee Randy King, Trustee Jeff Keast, Trustee Jack Littrell, and Trustee Angie Serafini. Also in attendance, Treasurer Ron Riebe, Attorney Patrick Dunn, and Administrator Michael Van Mill

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Action, Minutes: A. Regular Board Meeting Minutes from February 18, 2025

Motion by Trustee Rick Fischer, seconded by Trustee Randy King to approve the Regular Board Meeting Minutes from February 18, 2025, as presented.

Action, Accounts Payable: A. Finance Committee - Consideration of the March 3, 2025 Accounts Payable

Motion by Trustee Rick Fischer, seconded by Trustee Bruce Greenlee to approve the general and special fund bill list, as presented.

7. ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE - Trustee Angie Serafini, Chair

Information: A. Administration Committee

> Trustee Serafini gave a reminder regarding the annual free Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Perry Farm trails, beginning at 10:00 AM for children 10 and younger. Please visit the Village's website for more information.

> Trustee Serafini announced "Save the Date" for the Soiree de Bourbonnais to celebrate our community as we kick off Bourbonnais' Sesquicentennial (150 years) with an outdoor formal gala on Saturday, May 17, 2025, on The Grove at Goselin Park. This will be a ticketed event in which you can savor French cuisine, fine wine, live music and dancing the night away in Bourbonnais. Look for more details to come as we celebrate our Sesquicentennial year!

8. COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE - Trustee Jeff Keast, Chair

Information: A. Community & Economic Development Committee

Trustee Keast gave an update from the Building department:

> As of the end of February 2025 - we have 8 new home permits issued.

9. POLICE COMMITTEE - Trustee Bruce Greenlee, Chair

Information: A. Police Committee

> Trustee Greenlee stated the Police department had the Special Olympics fundraiser - Polar Plunge, which occurred on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at The Grove Hill. Interim Chief Anderson explained Commander Sztuba and Patrolman Ritter organized a slip and slide down on the hill this year, and the team raised $3,410.

10. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - Trustee Randy King, Chair

Action, Resolution: A. RESOLUTION NO. 25-1592 - A Resolution for the Closure of Certain Streets in the Village of Bourbonnais for the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival Children's Parade

Motion by Trustee Randy King, seconded by Trustee Jack Littrell to read Resolution 25-1592 by title only.

Motion Carried

Motion by Trustee Randy King, seconded by Trustee Bruce Greenlee to adopt Resolution 25-1592.

Information: C. Public Works Committee

> Public Works Superintendent Terry Memenga announced there is a second internet company called Surf Internet who will be burying fiber optic lines in the Village of Bourbonnais. They will start in the Plum Creek and Briarcliff neighborhood next week. This service is operating under State authority to work in our easements and right of ways. This service will provide residents with another internet option.

11. UTILITY COMMITTEE - Trustee Jack Littrell, Chair

Information: A. Utility Committee

> Trustee Littrell stated he is close to getting a date set to meet with utility companies to come in and present their capital projects to enhance the Village, possibly on May 20, 2025. Once this date is finalized, an announcement will occur for a committee meeting.

> Trustee Littrell stated there may be a committee meeting called soon on other topics that Trustee King would like to discuss.

> Finance Meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 3:30 PM, This earlier than normal time is due to the Senior's St. Patrick's day dinner that is at 4:30 PM that evening.

Information: A. Mayor Updates

> Mayor Schore thanked the Police department and everyone who supported another successful Polar Plunge fundraiser for Special Olympics this past Sunday, the slip and slide was a great success.

> Mayor Schore announced monthly brush pickup service will begin by the Public Works department on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with Area One. Weekly yard waste pickup provided by Republic Services will start back up on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. View schedules and maps on the Village website.
