Robin Kelly, a U.S. Congress representative for Illinois’s 2nd district since 2013, recently took to social media to express her views on several pressing political issues. Kelly shared her thoughts on the proposed budget cuts, President Trump's accomplishments, and privacy protection for taxpayer data.

On April 29, 2025, Robin Kelly tweeted about her participation alongside Senator Booker and Representative Jeffries on the Capitol steps, opposing Trump’s budget proposition which aims to slash $880 billion from Medicaid. She emphasized the detrimental impacts these cuts could have, stating, “Trump's budget to cut $880 billion from Medicaid will have real consequences and hurt real people.” She urged the public to continue advocating against these changes.

The following day, on April 30, 2025, Kelly addressed President Trump’s performance during his initial 100 days in office. In a tweet, she criticized Trump's actions, which included igniting a trade war, causing economic instability, and attempting cuts to Medicaid and Social Security. She remarked on his declining popularity, summarizing the situation by stating, “Americans are sick and tired of Trump’s chaos.”

Later on the same day, Kelly expressed pride in being part of a group of 105 House Democrats working to safeguard taxpayer data privacy. She highlighted the importance of protecting taxpayer information, regardless of immigration status, asserting, “If you pay taxes, your privacy should be protected — regardless of your immigration status.”

Robin Kelly, who succeeded Jesse Jackson Jr. and has served in the U.S. Congress since 2013, continues to voice her positions on key issues affecting the nation. Residing in Matteson, Kelly, 66, was born in New York and graduated from Bradley University. Her career has spanned various roles, including her time in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007.
