Ronald R. Woodman Sr. | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

Ronald R. Woodman Sr., age 81, of Plainfield, formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno. Born on May 19, 1944, in Chicago, he was the son of Russell and Ellen Woodman. Ronald was united in marriage to Frances Andlovec in 1968 in Worth, IL. He spent over 30 years working for Illinois Bell & AT&T before retiring, during which time he developed a passion for building model airplanes and trains. Ronald had a love for cars, particularly muscle cars like the Mustang and Shelby Cobra, and also enjoyed hunting. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Proudly serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, Ronald was a dedicated family man and a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Bolingbrook. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Woodman; sons Ronald Jr. (Melanie) Woodman and Michael Woodman; sister Audrey (Les) Taylor; grandchildren Brett Woodman, Emily (Brandon) Hemphill, Maxwell Woodman, and Maison Woodman; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ronald's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Cremation rites have been conducted, with private inurnment to be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Memorials in honor of Ronald may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno activity fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
