U.S. Representative Robin Kelly posted a series of statements on September 24, 2025, addressing healthcare policy and recent gun violence. Kelly, who has consistently won re-election to Congress by wide margins since 2014, used her social media platform to criticize Republican actions regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and to comment on a shooting at a Dallas ICE facility.

In a post early that morning, Kelly wrote: ".@HOUSEGOP is playing a dangerous game with access to affordable healthcare. Their refusal to extend ACA funding threatens to cause premiums to skyrocket for millions. @HouseDemocrats and I are fighting to stop Republicans’ reckless attempt to dismantle our healthcare." (September 24, 2025)

Later in the day, she responded to reports of violence in Texas: "My heart is with the families of those killed and injured at the Dallas ICE facility this morning. As we continue to hear more information, one thing is clear: Gun violence affects all of us — whether you’re law enforcement, an immigrant, or a citizen. We need commonsense gun" (September 24, 2025)

Addressing rising costs for Americans, Kelly added: "Americans are already stretched thin by high prices—and now face the biggest jump in health insurance costs in 15 years. We need to lower costs, protect access to care, and put people over profits." (September 24, 2025)

Kelly's comments come amid ongoing debates over healthcare funding and gun safety legislation in Congress. She has represented her district since winning a special election in 2013 and has secured re-election multiple times by substantial margins—defeating Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote and winning similar majorities against other challengers in previous cycles.

Her statements reflect broader Democratic concerns about potential increases in health insurance premiums if ACA subsidies are not extended and continued calls for legislative action on gun violence.
