Billy Ray Barnett | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais
Billy Ray Barnett, aged 95, of Bourbonnais, IL, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born on April 7, 1930, in Herrin, IL, to Cyrus E. and Mae B. Barnett. A memorial visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, donations to a Veteran's charity in Bill's name are encouraged. A dedicated coach and sports enthusiast, Bill also served in the Illinois National Guard and was a proud US Veteran. He cherished his 71 years of marriage to Alice E. Bridges, raising two sons, traveling, playing cards, and cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Bill is survived by his wife, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and several family members.
