Janis Yonke, Retired Riverside Medical Center Employee and Mother, Dies at 79

Janis Yonke, aged 79, of Watseka, formerly of Bourbonnais, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born on March 13, 1946, in Kankakee, to Harold and Elizabeth Clark. Janis was a retired employee of Riverside Medical Center and enjoyed reading and playing the lottery. She is survived by her sons, daughters, stepchildren, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and extended family. Janis is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, and sister. Visitation and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Cremation rites will be accorded, with inurnment at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee. Memorial donations can be made to the Autism Research Institute.
