The last day of the season for brush picking/chipping in Momence will be Oct. 20.
As part of the advisory, the Momence city council reminds residents that they do not chip or haul away entire trees nor piles larger than a pickup load. In addition, limbs and brush are expected to be placed near the street with the cut ends facing the road.
"Leaf pickup will begin on an 'as needed' basis," Momence Mayor Mick Porter said. "Leaves will not be picked up in the alleys. Please place leaf piles near the street (not on the street or in the gutters)."
The mayor's note also mentioned that the city's last farmers market is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
