Robin Kelly, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 2nd district since 2013, addressed a range of policy and social issues in her recent public statements on July 15, 2025. Kelly, who previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and holds a BA from Bradley University, commented on economic matters, healthcare disparities affecting Black women, and called for transparency regarding high-profile files.

On July 15, 2025 at 15:21 UTC, Kelly attributed ongoing inflation and rising prices to former President Donald Trump’s trade policies. She stated: "Americans are paying the price for Trump’s shortsighted trade war. Inflation continues to rise. Prices continue to rise. This is Trump’s economy."

Later that day at 19:42 UTC, Kelly highlighted the issue of Black women’s pain being overlooked in medical settings. She referenced a roundtable discussion with actress Lupita Nyong’o about uterine fibroids and emphasized legislative advocacy for improved access to treatment and resources. According to Kelly: "Black women’s pain is often ignored in the doctor’s room. I refuse to let their pain go unheard in Congress. At a roundtable with Lupita Nyong’o, who has uterine fibroids, we discussed how we can increase access to treatment and provide resources to women with uterine fibroids."

At 21:46 UTC on July 15, Kelly called for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein by stating: "Release the Epstein files, Trump."

Robin Kelly was born in New York City in 1956 and currently resides in Matteson.
