Momence Precinct No. 1 has boundaries, polling location clarified by amendment

Momencesign

The Kankakee County Board approved amendments to the resolution governing the new Momence No. 1 voting precinct at its meeting Jan 12.

The new precinct was created last June by a resolution that consolidated Momence Precincts No. 1 and No. 3 into a single precinct. County officials have since found that the resolution did not clearly state the new precinct's boundaries and polling places, forcing the board to file a clarifying amendment.

The new Momence Precinct No. 1 boundaries begin at the intersection of Rt. 1-17 and the north line of Lot 3 of the Sterling Meadows Subdivision and runs north to 6000 N. Road until its intersection with 18000 E. Road, then runs south to the Kankakee River before following the river to its intersection with Rt. 1-17.

From that point, the boundary line turns north until it reaches the original intersection.with the north line of Lot 3 of the Sterling Meadows Subdivision.

Beginning with the March 16 general primary elections, all Momence Precinct No. 1 voters will vote at the Earl D. Schoeffner Memorial Building at 105 E. Second St. in Momence.
