The Kankakee County board approved a series of construction contracts March 8.
The county received bids Feb. 11 for a number of construction projects scheduled for this year.
The low bidders included Prairie Materials and Vulcan Construction Materials -- both of Manteno.
Prairie Materials bid $7/ton for the first group of one job and $12/ton for the second group.
Vulcan Construction Materials bid $8/ton for one group of another job and $14/ton for Group 2 of that same job.
