The Environmental Services Utility Committee gathered for a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, May 16.
The Kankakee Environmental Services Utility is a department of the City of Kankakee. It is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city's storm water, sanitary sewer systems, lift stations, hydroelectric facility, street lights, traffic control, GIS, information technology, city networks, green building operation and maintenance services.
Additionally, it handles issues related to solid waste, recycling, yard waste disposal, streets, alleys and arborist services.
