Momence is sponsoring a city logo contest
Local creative spirits have a chance to shine with the city’s logo design competition seeking an image to create, refine and ultimately represent the community online and via signage, stationery and vehicles.
Mayor Mick Porter and the Momence City Council invite residents to contribute ideas for an official logo for the community located 50 miles south of Chicago, offering a $200 cash prize for the winner. The contest is open to everyone; entrants have until 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 to submit their ideas.
City officials hope to capture the essence of the community with an attractive and professional-looking design. While entries can be rendered in black and white or color, participants will be at an advantage if they render concepts crisply with sharp lines rather than sketch-style.
Entries can be submitted in person or by mail to Alderman David Cook, at City Hall, 105 W. Washington St., Momence, IL 60954. If sending a hand-drawn original by U.S. mail, designers should keep a copy for their records.
Designers can address their questions to Cook. City Council meetings are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month, when citizens are encouraged to attend and share comments.
